For Spatially Registered Images (Scanned cadastral maps from originals)
Horizontal positional accuracy of all SourceView (R) scanned files
compares to the horizontal accuracy of the original mylar, hand drawn source
plats/maps from which they were created.
For Non-Registered images
Images are not spatially registered.
Initially, more than 1100 mylar, cadastral maps were scanned from mylar originals at 300 dpi by ValueCad, a commercial mapping company.. Each map image was prepared for loading into SourceView(R), a relational image based mapping system from Momentum Systems, by assigning to each image an unique identifier and registering each image to state plane coordinates. Positioning points (NE and SW section corners)were selected from the Washington State’s Department of Natural Resources (POCA) file with general accuracy.. No additional effort was made to warp or rubber sheet scanned images to better survey control.
