This coverage delineates areas containing coal mine workings (abandoned) that may represent a potential man-made geological hazard.
Purpose:
Coverage was digitized in response to the implementation of the Critical Areas Ordinance that classified coal mine workings (abandoned) as a potential man-made geological hazard. The mine workings date from the 1890's. The coverage shows the outside boundaries of the mine workings but no detail of actual tunnels.
